Zina and the two suitors

This Play is the second experience of the author to write the dialogue in Algerian dialect.

It is the story of two young men and a girl, the first young man is the son of a jeweler who works in his father’s shop in Algiers. He did not continue his studies because he believes that money is more important than knowledge. He boasts of his father’s wealth, thinking that he can buy everything with money even the woman whom he might marry.

The second young man is a worker in the same jeweller’s who is a real master of his craft. Furthermore, he’s a graduate of university.

As for the girl, called Zina, is very beautiful and smart. Each of these two young men trying to get into the good graces of her and asks for her hand. One attempted to seduce her with his gold and jewels. The other is committed to helping her with literacy and taking care of her.

What is the advantage of each of the two suitors in the eyes of society and why? Which one she chose as her life partner and what are her arguments? Who should be jealous of the other: the young man who has the money or the one who has the knowledge and why?

The play answers these questions and reveals unexpected surprises for readers.
