Kenz al-ahlam

•  It is the English version of the author’s novel published in Arabic in 2009. It is the story of eternal conflict between integrity and corruption. The businessman Zahid Wardi, the hero of this novel, faces a dilemma.

  In front of him two thorny ways, which one would he choose? Here is an extract from the novel:

  "I walked down the stairs amazed by what I had never seen before in my life and never heard of it except in fairy tales, a veritable treasure trove of money and gems. Everything that the Butcher had told me, I found it there, but I found more than that. Bags, suitcases and barrels filled with millions of dinars, countless amounts in euros and dollars, various gold bars, gold jewellery, diamonds, pearl necklaces. I must be in Ali Baba's cave or, more exactly, in the cave of the forty thieves.

  I was horrified; I discovered the secret of the Butcher. If he came and saw me here, he will kill me".
